Kendal G.L. Isaacs Gymnasium
This multi-purpose facility opened in 1990 and was named in honor of the late Sir Kendal G.L. Isaacs, a former Governor General of The Bahamas. It is located at the Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre, adjacent to the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium, and is the primary venue for Basketball games in New Providence.
The Kendal G. L Isaacs National Gymnasium was home to Michael ‘Sweet Bells' Thompson and Rick Fox, both former players with the LA Lakers; Dexter Cambridge, former player with the Dallas Mavericks; and Osborne 'Goose' Lockhart, former player with The Harlem Globetrotters.
The Kendal G.L. Isaacs National Gym also facilitates local and international teams and events: Summer of Thunder, College Basketball Battle of Atlantis practice sessions, the Circus and more. Also hosted are: the Philippines Association, Judo, Karate and Boxing (amateur and professional) as well as Battle of the Bands for all Islands through the Ministry of Education.
The Kendal G.L. Isaacs National Gym is the most active facility on the Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre and is open 7 days a week.
